Dr. Armstrong, Dr. Sauer, and the rest of our team pack our schedules full with professional events and continuing education to constantly improve the quality of our care. We hold ourselves to very high standards in order to keep our patients’ smiles beautiful and healthy. Dentistry is a rapidly evolving field, so it’s important to keep up with the latest advances. Our organizations also afford us opportunities to serve the greater community, bringing our passion for dentistry to an even wider audience.
2015 has been a very exciting year for our practice, and we’re not even halfway through it yet! Both of our dentists earned recognition for excellent care and our entire team attended a prominent local dental conference to refine our skills. Read on to learn more about our recent accomplishments and how they can help you maintain your pearly whites.
At the beginning of this year, Dr. Armstrong stepped in as President of the Texas Dental Association, a position he will remain in for one year. The Texas Dental Association, or TDA, is the third largest organization of its kind in the United States. Founded nearly 150 years ago, the TDA has more than 9,000 members, 26 societies, and 20 committees and councils.
In this leadership role, Dr. Armstrong will represent our state within the ADA, the American Dental Association. He will also attend and present at events, seminars, and workshops. He will oversee the publication of the Texas Dental Journal, a monthly publication that highlights contemporary research and trends in the field. Out of all of his presidential duties, however, Dr. Armstrong is most excited to become more involved in the TDA’s philanthropic contributions, from the Give Kids a Smile event for disadvantaged children to the Cavity Free Corral, a program that teaches people the basics of caring for their teeth.
At our office, Dr. Armstrong uses his knowledge and dedication to provide superb preventative dental care. We enjoy educating patients about proper dental hygiene techniques and monitoring oral healthcare to catch any conditions before they become a bigger problem.
This January, our whole team attended the Star of the South dental convention, an event sponsored by the Greater Houston Dental Society. During our time there, we checked out exhibits on dental technology, attended seminars to learn new methods, and participated in discussion forums on how to improve our field. These educational functions give our team members the knowledge and experience to offer excellent cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Our favorite moment of the Star of the South conference was when Dr. Sauer received the Kunik Award. This honor is named for Dr. Burt Kunik, the dentist who created the Houston Dental Meeting (now renamed the Star of the South) more than four decades ago. Every year, the Greater Houston Dental Society bestows this award on a dental professional who has been an active and instrumental participant in this event, helping to make it a success. Dr. Sauer brings the same enthusiasm to his work with our patients.
We go above and beyond to provide our patients with top-notch dental care, as evidenced by our team’s numerous awards and continuing education efforts. To learn more about our treatments or schedule a consultation with one of our dentists, contact Craig Armstrong, D.D.S. today.
